DO NOT create more than one account. This will be seen as cheating and will only result in your account being put on hold.
DO NOT use members in the same household as referrals. The terms and conditions clearly state that only one account per household is allowed. Doing this may be seen as an attempt to cheat the system and will result in your account being put on hold.
DO NOT sign up from a public computer. Only one IP address per account is allowed. Someone may have already created an account on that computer/network. This will mean there are two different accounts with the same IP address. This is not allowed.
DO NOT complete an offer more than once. You are only required to complete one offer. After this you can get as many gifts, one after the other.

Email your friends giving them more information along with your referral link.
Add your referral link to your signature on any forums you are a member of (if this is allowed).
Create a website or blog giving users more information and put your referral link on there. You can create a website using the 30 day free trial offer from Intuit/Homestead. This will count as completing your offer. Not only would you have completed your offer, you would also have a website!
Put your referral link on some business cards, posters, flyers etc.
